Hitting the beach again.......

The thing I have noticed since I started blogging is we seem to go to the beach quite a bit......Sarah is definitely a beach girl.....possibly a surfer girl too. Hopefully, these movies are about nice beach girls....I didn't see either of them...........I can bet that Annette's movie is pretty clean. We are lucky to live so close to the beach that we can take a walk (or drive or Woody)and get a quick hour of good "sand castle" time in.

Flashback Fridays

I have been to many blogs that have theme days and I thought it sounded fun....."Memory Mondays"...."Try it out Tuesdays".........Scrumdillydilly has "Photo-booth Fridays". So, when I came across this picture it reminded me of how much I love old photo booths too......I have not been able to find a good one in San Diego . Now days they have all the advertising of where you were when you took the pictures..........which I guess is nice but ......I like the old fashion photobooth pictures.
This picture is so funny.....I look pretty wired on , I am sure, a cherry pixie stix and my wonderful Mother is so calmly smiling.........I don't have any direct memory of this day but I am sure it wasn't much different than the days I have been spending with Sarah these past two years.....days filled with dancing, singing, syrup, car-seat wrestling matches and lots joy and love. Thanks Mom.........I hope Sarah finds lots of pictures and wants to know more about what we experienced together on this journey called Motherhood.

San Diego Children's Museum

Wow...what a great place!

We joined some friends today at the San Diego Children's Museum and had a great time. There is something to do for all ages. They have a Teenage ONLY area, 2 years and under area. The atmosphere is very bright and cheery ....very Urban. Sarah was thrilled she got to paint all over a Volkswagen and make a big mess. Wear play clothes.....Mom and Dad included.

They have a "Porta Party" that was just like the other ones but had an Ipod playing great music and a disco ball. I think every house should have one......of course it would be locked between the ages of 16-18.... too many hormones to add a "Porta Party" to the mix. Yikes I can't think that far ahead.....

If you find yourself downtown San Diego.....check it out....."Think , Play Create" and we did all three today.

60 Mile ....Walk for a Cure!!

My friend Stacia is walking for a cure this November. Her good friend in Phoenix has breast cancer at the age of 35. She has a 9 year old daughter and asked Stacia to join her team.....so I thought I would help spread the word. To raise money for a cure Stacia is raffling off a 1 night stay at the Ivy hotel downtown San Diego and also a gift certificate for breakfast for two on the roof-top. These are 2 separate prizes so your chances of winning are great!! For any donation of $20.00 she will put your name into the drawing. For example if you donate $40.00, you get two tickets. And-if you have any friends or family that usually donate to this cause have them donate under Stacia's name and get entered into the contest. If you go to http://www.the3day.org/ you can enter the donation site and then pull up her full name-Stacia Gluth. This is a wonderful cause and what fun prizes.

Drawing in JUNE 10, 2008!!

If you want to contact Stacia directly or have questions here is how you contact her

Life as a San Diego Beach Girl.......

What a great life.......beach day with our friends, Sea World, Breakfast with the Sesame Street gang...........all in the same weekend. Life is good.

We, along with three other family friends, had breakfast with Elmo this weekend. It was so great to watch the girls faces light up when Big Bird and Elmo came walking in. Sarah is clutching Daddy in this picture but I think it is a combination of joy , amazement and a small dash of fear. She got her "groove on" during the rest of the morning.

I just finished The Last Lecture .......about Randy Pausch and couldn't help but think of him and his courageous story as I was enjoying family and friends this weekend. I hope to follow in his footsteps and be more of a "Tigger" though life and less of an "Eore".......... Blessings to you Randy.

Sea World San Diego is opening Sesame Street Bay of Play next week. Elmo and the gang have pictures all over the park and Sarah LOVES it. We are having breakfast with Elmo on Saturday so Sarah will have two of her FAVORITE things .......syrup and Elmo all at the same time.!!!

May Day

I know it is past the first of May but I was wondering if children still make May Baskets and leave them on the doors of people (especially elderly)? I remember doing this as a child and it was always fun to think we were leaving a beautiful surprise on someones doorstep. I am kind of old fashion.......I hope kids still do this.....?
The dresses Sarah wore to the flower fields were made by a friend of mine Deb. She always makes the most adorable things for Sarah.......Breathing Beside Us
